“To create Taiwan’s local culture and promote the art of drumming” is Ten Drum Art Percussion Group’s goal. “Ten” signifies the overlapping of drumsticks, and the collection of energy in the ten directions to converge the power of unity. Taiwan’s drumming has never really had its own roots over these thousands of years. Ten Drum Art Percussion Group uses the culture, folklore, history and scenery of Taiwan as its theme. They combine diverse drumming elements to develop the essence of Taiwan’s drumming culture. The “Ten Drums Cultural Village”was established in 2007 to revitalize the declining sugar manufacturing industry with the power of culture, with the hope of reversing the original impression of percussion and multiplying local cultural values through drum music.
